After struggling for awhile in small bit parts, George indeed became a very good actor. I well remember him in COOL HAND LUKE and AIRPORT.

RIP George.

George Kennedy was also pretty good in "The Dirty Dozen" ....with Lee Marvin (and a dozen other great actors).

GOD Bless George Kennedy's soul.

A few years ago, right before he died, I had the privilege of taking care of Jake Mcniece, the hero Lee Marvin played in the movie " The Dirty Dozen". Let me tell you these men were badass!!!

G Kennedy

The "post old movie thread" got me thinking of some of George`s many movies. Liked him a lot with Eastwood in "The Eiger Sanction, and in an old movie called "Deliver Us from Evil" in the early 70`s. The 2`nd movie was almost like a D B Cooper take off. A group of hikers, led by Kennedy, finds a dead body. The body is a high jacker that has jumped out of a plane with the $$$$$, and landed in the middle of nowhere.

He was also in Charade.

I loved the scene where he was drowned in a hotel bathroom. Cary Grant takes him out of the tub, dries him off, dresses him in pajamas, and puts him in bed. The police find him lying there dead - from drowning. :D

He was also great in a favorite movie of mine: 'Fool's Parade' with James Stewart, Strother Martin and a very young Kurt Russell.
