1940's/50s Autograph book. Help/thoughts

Hey guys, not sure if it's even allowed to do this, but I spent a while uploading on BO a complete autograph book that a customer brought in today and many suggested I should see what the community here thinks.

I hope its okay to link this thread. If it's not, I do apologize. I have had a lot of great help on it so far. But I am VERY curious to see what the members here have to say.

Thank you for any information you can provide.

(sorry about the extra click...here is the link)

Wow that's an incredible autograph book.No way I would cut it up,but that's just my opinion.

I think it would be a great thing to have and a hard thing to sell.

This thread with some of the rarest signatures from the 40's and 50's could help you ID if there are some rare signatures that might otherwise be overlooked.

Wow....love that book. Don't cut it up as I believe its historical significance is better than the individual cuts. I did notice the Larry Berra and a few others caught it. I saw a lot of low ball prices being thrown around and I think you are closer to the $1500 than some others thought. You just need the right collector. I am more of a modern era autograph collector, but those vintage ones are really awesome. I wouldn't know the values of them on one piece but if I had the deep pockets I would be interested. Good luck with the sale and thank you for sharing.

I think it's absurd how low some of those estimates are.

100% correct.
The flaws are obvious.

Autograph Book

Would love to chat with the original owner wonder how he got started on this project. I feel a bit angry that the family would sell his cherished memories. Now you are the custodian of those memories keep the book intact.

.

Even though my wife and family know how much time ,
energy, and love I have devoted to my collection, I guarantee
they would not waiver in their effort to sell it. Not because of
the value, but because they do not share the emotional
attachment to the game, history, or hobby I do. To them it is
clutter and stuff that takes up space. Better gone and one less
thing to deal with.

I realize the comparison is not the same, but the lack of
emotional attachment or sentiment is not far removed.
