It is missing the "big 4" and the Demmitt and O'Hara only exist<br /> with Polar Bear backs.<br /><br />I started this adventure back in Dec 2005 when I decided to break up my 2nd T206 set. This set had 160<br />Piedmont backs to start with. Anyhow, it was still quite a challenge and I enjoyed this great "trip". In this<br />process, I would like to thank the following members of this Forum for helping me out....Scot Reader,<br /> Steve Murray, Trae, T206Collector, and Brian Weisner.<br /><br />Regarding the Doyle (error), Magie, Plank & Wagner (all existing with Piedmont backs).....I will pass this<br /> set onto my Grandson, RON. He is studying EE at the U of Maine.......he is on the Baseball, Tennis, and<br />Hockey teams; and, hopes to become a Pro in one of these sports. If you recall, I first was content to just collect all the 150 Series cards with<br /> Piedmont backs. You inspired me when I first heard about your mission... however I am sure it was obvious when I put the lot up for sale I had given up. I only made it 23% of the way. Even without mentioning the fact that it's your 3rd complete set... and the small amount of time you did it in... congratulations on getting such a tough & unique set done!<br /><br />You and a select few (Bill Heitman of course) have handled more T206's than some of us will in our entire lives... and I'm only 25! We know there are actually 156 cards<br /> in this Series....and 11 of them are 150-only cards (which includes Magie and Wagner).<br /><br />So.....we have 156 - 11 = 145 that are 150/350 cards. But, we know Plank is in this group.<br />So we'll discard him and we have 144 cards to collect from the 150/350 group. I searched<br />only for the "150" version of these 144 cards.<br /><br />Now add the 9 cards from the 150-only group to the above 144, and the result is 153<br /> cards (I discarded Magie and Wagner).<br /><br />From the 350 only group and the 350/460 group of Major Leaguers....I tried to acquire<br /> only 350 Subjects backs. The total number of cards in this group is 184. The Joe Doyle<br />error is included in this group; so, we discard him and we have 183 cards to collect.<br /><br />I hope I made this clear.....if not I will try to explain it again.<br /><br /><br />Ted Z

And, those<br />cards were acquired with "old $$$$", when T206's were much more affordable. For example,<br /> the Green Cobb (that is shown in the above scan) cost me only $250 when I bought it.<br /><br />The other factor that complicates the cost estimate on this set is that there was a lot of<br /> trading going on in order to acquire many of these cards. And, translating those tranactions<br /> into $$$$ is at best like playing with "funny money".<br /><br />Anyhow, I cannot give you a $$$$ figure at this point; but, I will keep plugging away at this<br /> and should come up with a realistic cost sometime soon.......actually, I'm curious to find out,<br /> myself.<br /><br />Thanks for asking.....TED Z<br /> <br /><br />

Posted By: <b>Scot Reader</b><p>Ted,<br /><br />Yes, these six 350/460 "superprints" are available with a different and larger group of backs than can be found on the 350/460 "regular prints". More particularly, these six subjects can be found with all backs that appear on 350-only subjects as well as all backs that appear on 460-only subjects. I believe these six are indeed possible with Sovereign 460 (in contrast to the other 350/460 subjects, which are NOT possible with Sovereign 460). If you look at the survey data I provided I think at least a couple of these six were confirmed with that back. Hence, my earlier expressed hope that you will tackle the Sovereign 460 subset that includes the 48 460-onlys plus these six--for a total of 54 cards. While challenging, it should not be nearly as daunting as, say, obtaining all of the Piedmont 42s.<br /><br />Your Chance w/Lenox is rare--but I can't say for sure that it is any more difficult than any other subject with that scarce back.<br /><br />Scot
