Rocky Marciano check

It's probably too pricey, but was wondering if everybody would be comfortable with this check? I don't usually have any doubts about most checks, and I don't think I would on this one, but I do know that there were some letters of his that were deemed forgeries at some point.

Do you see any reason to be concerned?

It's a PSA slabbed check being sold be one of the hobby's reputable dealers. I thnk you would be safe in purchasing it

Looks ok to me but there are much nicer media for his autograph at a fraction of that price n

Travis has pointed out before numerous boxing examples that were authenticated by PSA/DNA and offered by reputable dealers that were as fake as Kate Hudson's hooters. I don't know Marciano's signature so I have no opinion on the one being discussed here, but if it's one of their boxing errors, it won't be nearly as much fun as Hudson's hooters would be for the buyer.

because it has a slab or coa from a 'company' that authenticates music, film, actors, screen and stage, historical, presidential, bowling, tennis, jai lai, baseball, football, canadian football, australian rules football, arena football, futbol, rugby, hockey, soccer, south american soccer, golf, military, world leaders, nobel prize winners, religious, basketball, donkey basketball, aviation, space, world wrestling federation, national wrestling allilance, mma, ufc, poetry, literature, sci fi, weightlifting, olympics, track and field, athletics, synchronized swimming, swimming, diving, archery, chess, and on and on, i guess who can argue? because we all know they have all those specialists on staff.

(some of these were jokes like donkey basketball, just just give them time?)

i have seen many a slab that double as paperweights.

this just sold two weeks ago at auction, so all i can say is if a cert from a certain company sold at an auction house/reputable venue is enough, then no one can convince that person otherwise. The auction house is just going by the company cert, so they think they are doing the right thing. what can people do when they dont even take that autograph off of their autographfact page even though they now know.

I don't know Travis. Are you sure it didn't get that bid because of the Rocky Starting Line-up in the shadow box?

;)

Check

I would save your money and buy a nicer looking example. That check is beat and stained on the right side and looks awful. Most likely a genuine sig but very ugly looking as others have pointed out.

I believe the safety comment was directed to the fact that a reputable, established dealer would stand behind its item and refund if the buyer was dissatisfied, not that the PSA/DNA folks are always right.
