Help with PayPal

I made a transaction weeks ago and today was the day that my funds were finally supposed to be available, but they weren't. I entered a different tracking number because I ended up adding insurance and getting a different tracking #. I think the funds are still being held because the original tracking # says it hasn't arrived yet... Anyone know if there is a way to edit the tracking # or anything so I can get access to my funds, or anything else if this has happened to someone before? Google and calling PayPal have been no help. Thanks for any input

When you say you made a transaction, do you mean there was money coming to your account and it never got there? I have never heard of "tracking" holding any funds up.....but maybe I am just unaware of it. That being said E-checks take time (3-4 days) to clear but most other transactions have gotten a lot faster the last year or two, so it seems. When something like this has happened to me it has always been someone (or me) sending money to a bad email address, usually a letter left out, and it never gets anywhere until it's canceled and redone.

If it was through eBay I have had them hold payment till the buyer left feedback.

I sold a card through eBay... the buyer left me positive feedback awhile ago. The reason I thought it might be the tracking # is because the original tracking # I entered (which changed when I added insurance) says the package hasn't been sent out yet.

The money was received. In PayPal, it has said the funds are "on hold" for weeks and it is really frustrating.

That makes sense then...

hmmm...that would have me quite a bit PO'd....I would call Paypal until I got a hold of someone....Someone, somewhere will pick up a phone. :)

Yeah, I've heard of issues like this happening to some sellers and now that Ebay and Paypal has officially split it's gotten much harder to resolve issues like this, as they each instinctively deflect blame on to the other one. Now they are acting more like rivals then the hand in hand relationship they are supposed to be.

Only thing I can think of is to keep calling Paypal (Ebay can't help you with your money anymore) until you reach someone who will help you. Make sure you have the new tracking number on hand.

I would actually suggest working from the eBay end first rather than PayPal. If you sold it on eBay, and a hold was put on the funds, that hold was placed at eBay's direction. Same as if it was a disputed transaction where the buyer filed a complaint of Not As Described or Non-Receipt Of Item. It may be as simple as going to your list of Sold items and updating that one with the correct tracking info so that EBay's system can see it was actually delivered and signal PayPal to release the funds. As you said, if you used a different tracking number than what was entered, it will appear to eBay that the package was never shipped.
