What could an appraisal copy be for a T206 Wagner?

Posted By: DJ

We haven't had a "Check Out This Wagner On eBay" thread in a while but this one is good. In a previous thread, a man shot the photo on his pant leg. This time, the million dollar beauty is balances on the space bar on a keyboard. Of course the story is good:

It belonged to my Grandpa Who then passed it to my mother who then Passed it to me.

The edges are not bent, torn or ripped its in great perfect condition. I have the appraisal copy, if you would like to see it please email me. I would be happy to send you it. The seller also asks that you don't be "mean" to him.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Honus-Wagner-Base-Ball-Card-Old_W0QQitemZ5234125498QQcategoryZ213QQrdZ1QQcmdZV iewItem

And then there's this Wagner:

This is the REAL thing, I promise.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Honus-Wagner-card_W0QQitemZ5233700815QQcategoryZ213QQrdZ1QQcmdZ ViewItem

And then:

I FOUND THIS IN A OLD HOME THAT I GOT TO CLEAN UP WITH OTHER ITEMS THAT MAYBE ON EBAY AT A LATER TIME AFTER SOME RESEARCH.

WITH A LITTLE BIT OF RESEARCH I FOUND IN THE 2006 GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS, A PICTURE THAT LOOKS LIKE IT.

I'M NOT SURE OF WHAT THE CARD IS TRULY WORTH, I'M JUST AT YOUR MERCY,

Too bad this reprint (IT IS A 1980's REPRINT) is worth about a dollar.

http://cgi.ebay.com/HONUS-WAGNER-VALUE-100-000-00-1910-TOBACCO-CARD_W0QQitemZ5232354432QQcategoryZ86841QQrdZ1QQcm dZViewItem

DJ
Posted By: Anson
1st auction....$200? Wouldn't they set their sites a little higher? The gramps story is getting old quick!

2nd auction.....what is it with the $200 amount? Sheesh! Obiovusly a scammer that had to create a new screen name to sell his garbage.

3rd.....the most entertaining. If they would only put the value right on the back of all cards, it would save us having to bid against each other and complain about all of the "behind-the-times" publications.

Posted By: Chris
Isn't it funny that a mint Wagner reprint may be more rare simeday than the real deal just because of all the Doctoring of the reprints. Maybe we should be buying up the reprints. lol

Posted By: Mike W
I actually think they feel guilty by idea of taking $100,000 from someone. But $200 they can both enjoy and continue living with themselves. Oh... the mind of a scammer. Will we ever truly understand their complex minds?
