“Disappearing” ebay items

I’ve had two items this week disappear, without a trace, from ebay. I was going to bid on both.

I know sellers sometime pull stuff if they receive an offer they can’t refuse. What seems different now is that these pulled items have left no trace. They’re not in my “recently viewed” nor can they be found by searching completed items.

Just another example of ebay becoming less and less transparent...?

Is the seller still on there? I wonder if this is what happens when an acct is suspended.

Yep, the (slimey) seller is still there. It was two different sellers. Both items had multiple bids. In my experience, sellers usually pull stuff only if it has no bids.

I have had several sellers cancel my bid to sell off eBay. That includes a member here that canceled my eBay bid to sell it directly to another member on here.

that sucks especially if you were going to pay more

The temptation is much greater now, I’m sure, to avoid 20%+- in fees and sales tax.

Off topic but about Ebay still.

Anyone know how to view sold listings now when viewing on a desktop.. It's no longer on the left hand site bar.

It was just there when I looked, same place

watchcount.com is another site to view eBay sold/completed listings. They show how much a BIN actually sold for too.

Well, they used to. It's been wrong for the last couple of months because eBay has been restricting the "Best Offer" price from those sites.

There are a couple of workarounds to find out the actual sold for price; I think you can look up the item number on eBay Canada or UK or something.
