The National - who's coming?

Many of the memorabilia collectors I know don't seem to be coming this year .. So who will be attending ? I'll be there most days .

vintagesportscollector 07-19-2016 05:12 PM

I'll be there Wed evening, and then probably Sat or Sun.

daywalker2029 07-19-2016 05:27 PM

perezfan 07-19-2016 05:36 PM

I'll see you at the National.......

In Chicago.

They've made this one way too difficult for west coast people.

bobfreedman 07-19-2016 05:50 PM

Nationals

I will be there from Wednesday to Sunday (leave in the morning).

Forever Young 07-19-2016 06:13 PM

Usual suspects

Graigy poo, Phil and I will again be strutting our stuff up and down the isles. Woo! Ok that was a bit much.. Really going to miss the net54 dinner though. It is always nice to clown around there and give Leon crap. :)

Bill Rayburn 07-19-2016 07:00 PM

I will be there along with the other two Bills from KY. Looking forward to seeing our good friends.

deeg23 07-19-2016 07:34 PM

jpop43 07-19-2016 07:42 PM

1880nonsports 07-19-2016 08:34 PM

find me at Glenn Mechanick's table

Glenn has some great cards and memorabilia and maybe a few 19th century autographs and photos. It's a 19th century extravaganza for sure! Stop by for a piece of candy.......

God willing we'll save it up for next year and really blow it out. You guys be safe and give us some reports back on the board.

The National - Who Is Attending

Thanks Henry, my friend! Yes, I will be there - Booth #453 - with plenty of 19th century (and even some 18th century) to turn-of-century cards and other stuff. I specialize in rare and eclectic baseball and other display sports memorabilia and Americana....lots of "Eye" Candy!

In addition, as always I will have actual candy available for the taking.

Please stop by & say Hello!

Glenn

bigfanNY 07-19-2016 10:34 PM

My home state will be there Wed Sat and Sunday...I will wear my Ruth net54 shirt Wed and hope toput some faces to the names here..

Andy Sandler 07-20-2016 12:34 AM

Vintage Yankee 07-20-2016 06:29 AM

Sat/Sun only for me. Hopefully you guys don't pick off all the good stuff before I get there!

prewarsports 07-20-2016 05:11 PM

I'm sitting this one out for the first time in about a decade. Atlantic City makes it almost impossible for us west coast guys to make it work. Besides, Ben would have found all the good photos before I could even figure out the local transit system :) Have fun and I will see you guys next year.

Seriously???? No booth? This is not good news. Sorry to hear this. Always enjoy seeing you at the national and talking photos.

Answer me Jewishcollector :) haha Are you going this year I hope? The national is certainly not complete without you.

I can't wait. This year will be different but will still be filled with stories!

vintagesportflips 07-28-2016 06:33 AM

National

I'll be set up at booth 352 with a wide assortment of sports memorabilia including equipment, pennants, photos, nodders, and much more.
I'll also be searching the floor for any neat early Eagles or Frankford Yellowjackets pieces.

REA will be set up for the first time in booths 661/760. We have plans to bring a number of memorabilia highlights to the show already, including some great display pieces and autographs, but if you'll be at the show and are looking for certain types of items, shoot me an email, and I'll try to bring things from the auction that will be of specific interest to members.

Brian

That's great! I Will definitely swing over.

thetruthisoutthere 07-28-2016 07:28 PM

This will be my first National.

I will be there on Friday morning and afternoon.

I am debating as to whether to purchase a General Admission ticket or VIP ticket.

GrayGhost 07-28-2016 08:14 PM

Wish I could go. Not w my serious issues. Been 21 years since my last one. Have fun all, buy a cool item for me in mind. Have great times and enjoy.

Chris, I'm Really interested in how much fake garbage you spot too. Sadly, I'm sure some will be there, even authenticated by the alphabet boys:)

Scott, thank you, and I pray that your situation improves.

Believe it or not, I won't be going there to "spot fake garbage (although I am sure I will run into some)."

I'm sure I will get Ronnie Blomberg's autograph and do a Photo Op with him.

EYECOLLECTVINTAGE 07-28-2016 08:46 PM

I'll be there!!

Exhibitman 07-29-2016 06:17 AM

I'm in all week. Lets talk boxing cards! Copies of my book will be at LOTG's booth; buy one and I will write all over it.

Huysmans 07-30-2016 07:48 AM

I know most who are attending will have their hands full, but I figure it can't hurt to ask...

If anyone sees ANY nice turn-of-the-century hockey items... Wool sweaters, sticks, pucks, photos, etc. I would love to hear from you, and I would obviously pay a finders fee for helping locate any good items. Just DM me.

Thanks in advance!
Enjoy the show!!

Brent

curch 07-30-2016 07:13 PM

I will be there on Saturday. Hoping to find some starting lineups!

Bushleaguer 07-30-2016 07:32 PM

national

I will be there Friday and Saturday looking for vintage bats

MGHPro 07-30-2016 09:07 PM

David
Let me know what kind of bats you are looking for and I'll see what I might have
Matt

LEHR 07-31-2016 04:19 PM

No National for me this year. I was in AC once back in 2006 and I wasn't impressed with the town then and hear it's overall worse now. Plus travel to AC from Utah is just a headache and the hotels on the weekends are ridiculously expensive for what you get. No thanks. I'll sit back and wait for Chicago in 2017.

Bobsbats 07-31-2016 04:39 PM

Matt,

Bought some stuff from you in the past...whats your booth number?

Bob Hamlin

Hi Bob
i'm not setting up.. I'm driving back and forth everyday so I can bring whatever I have that might interest you. I'll have bats with me regardless, but if you are looking for something specific just let me know.

Not me, missing second straight year after making 10 in a row prior, including three years ago when my son was born just one month prior.

dwr11 08-01-2016 09:56 AM

Not going this year. This will be only the 4th or 5th National I have missed since 1982. AC is not a place for kids and it's a challenging place to fly. I went the last time it was in AC and I must admit I got some great deals as the attendance from what I remember was not that good. Hopefully, it works out well for the dealers.

Hankphenom 08-01-2016 10:21 AM

Bringing WaJo stuff

I'll be there with Kevin Keating at booths 1901-1905 with some really fine Walter stuff from my collection and the estate.

Bushleaguer 08-01-2016 06:49 PM

I stopped by and talked to Adam for a few minutes...and picked up a copy of his book. I don't even do boxing cards, but it's a great book and will be a really interesting read.

Cheers,
Steve

The most enjoyable moments of the National for me were the conversations I had with fellow collectors.

They ranged in age from 25 to 80.

It was fun conversing with collectors who remembered the 1960's Yankees teams.

Many of them were trying to convince me to go to the National in Chicago next year (which I am seriously considering).

It was cool watching the signers interact with their fans.

I had a nice conversation with Steve Grad and short and cordial conversation with Spence.

It was simply a wonderful and memorable experience.
