The one you have listed as 1942 Monarch's Satchel Paige and Cardinals Dizzy Dean 9... (151288226853) $75 is actually a 1933 image of Dizzy Dean and Pepper Martin.

Yi, this is not the appropriate forum for advertising your ebay auctions..there is a specific forum in the Buy/Sell/Trade area for that. I let your first thread slide a few weeks back, but please do not advertise your ebay auctions on the Memorabilia forum any more. Thanks.

4 hours left on my eBay selling!

JoeyF1981 05-03-2014 05:10 PM

good luck yi! Next time I suggest lowering the start prices some. Some of those photos are priced so high that youre likely to not get any bids on them. The best way to test the market is start some at 99 cents and see what they sell for

Agree....

Especially for a brand new seller with no feedback, trying to establish a presence on ebay. Let the market dictate the price, and you will inevitably develop a customer base.

The combination of "zero feedback" and aggressive pricing creates a challenge for the new seller. In the beginning, be willing to let a few pieces go for good prices. Build some initial excitement and awareness. Develop a good reputation and compile some positive feedback. Down the road, you can then ease into a more aggresssive selling tactic.

Sorry for the rant... just growing tired of seeing the same items sitting on ebay indefinitely with no movement, simply because the sellers won't bend on their overly ambitious prices.

Exactly! especially since the ones she has listed arent very desirable she shouldnt be so aggressive. I could only imagine if she listed some of her ruth's or gehrig's how high the starting prices would be. It would more than likely backfire and scare people away from bidding

They're not sellers, most are serial listers

Also, when I click on the link it takes me to someone selling model airplanes

The corrected linked is relinked above.

With the photos you're offering and if you're good about shipping and all that, if you offer them as $9.99 min bid auctions you could get a good following with time. Especially as the collection comes from the family of a former MLB photographer. I think you want to build up some winners/bidders and feedback, and I don't think it would take long to build a following, as they're nice photos.

I also think consigning some to big auction houses will get you the best return in the short term. Plus, if the auction houses list that the photos come from your uncle's collection (and you could insist that as a condition-- and I don't know why they wouldn't want to list that provenance anyway), that would be free press for your collection. If photos from your uncle's collection are listed in REA or Heritage catalogs, that would boost recognition and prestige for your collection. And you can sell both ways-- consign and on ebay. It's not an either/or.

Unlike Rhys, I don't give free advice. $10. In fact it was such stellar advice, I think Rhys should send me $2 too.

I have more advice, but am going to first wait to make sure the checks don't bounce.
