1914 or 1915 cracker jack Ty Cobb

Hello. I've been searching for a third high value card to complete a trio to be passed down to my kids. After a bit of research, I'm leaning towards the 1914 or 1915 Cracker Jack Ty Cobb. If I wanted to get one between PSA 6-8, where are my best options to search? I saw a few "make an offer to owner" on HA. What other places should I be looking?

Just so you are aware of this going in, finding the 1914 version in that grade range will be exponentially more difficult and more expensive to locate, but you likely already know that.

Keeping an eye on all the auction houses helps, too. http://www.auctionreport.com is a good tool.

Finally, you might try posting in the BST section here. Just be sure to place your want ad in the proper category (in this case the pre WWII BST forum for E cards) and put "WTB" in the title so prospective sellers will see the topic. You are free to bump your topic to the top of the list every few days for better visibility.

Good luck. Many times the hunt is more fun than the catch.

What are your first two cards? Just curious

I just checked the pop report on the 1914 Ty Cobb and there are only 5 PSA 8's and one 8.5 and when you look at the top sets listed in the registry three of these are claimed so it sounds like it will be very difficult to secure that card in an 8.

Good luck and it sounds like you are buying great cards for their future.
