Got this postcard in a local trade this morning...Grover Cleveland Alexander during WW1.

I guess I'm dabbling in 1933 Goudeys now. Oh the way the wind blows...

<a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/MUXGzu1-SuhxGLE9Z_ddmYRT3dysq2WPtX5u9gk-z0Y?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-1oMl8a1mncc/UVmooF71d0I/AAAAAAAARMI/8oWP96Tlgj4/s800/75%2520Goudeys.jpg" height="316" width="472" /></a>

And with McGraw I now need just seven w515-2s for my obscure baseball strip card set....

Nice Cobb. I figured it was time to add to my library last week and made this purchase. An hour later a topic was started on the very same book.

Dan - I love that postcard, combines WWI history with baseball history. It doesn't get a lot better than that. Congratulations.

Nice......

I had never heard of E26 Menagerie Gum before this and missed it in the B&L auction.

Did some searching and learned all about it from that Archive Guy.

Got this in the mail last night. As you can guess, I'm working on a T201 set.

Isn't he still caught up in a lawsuit against himself?

I too never heard of the E26 Menagerie series until I found this card in the B&L auction. I thought it was unique. I guess B&L had an e92 Shean with a similar back in 2011. Then these two were sold together along with two other cards in the Huggins and Scott auction last September. I wish I would have found it then because I would have rather got them together for the price paid at that time.

1st Dizzy Dean

I have been searching for over two years for a good value on this one. Finally found one I could afford with only minor paper loss on the back. Glad to add another one to my set (when you only have one it doesn't feel much like you are collecting a set).

Great image on that Dizzy card, George -- nice!

abothebear 04-03-2013 08:39 AM

Thanks, Chuck. There is small 1/4 inch wrinkle on the left border, and the edges are a little rough in parts, but I am very pleased with it.

Four more Cardinals to go for the Cardinals set, and then on to the Tigers.
