I had never seen this one before, but it still went for a whole lot more than I thought it would. Anyone seen this one before? Are the guys in front of the ticket windows players?

Posted By: Dan Bretta
Yep...I'm wondering who the underbidder is because it looks like there is a huge jump between the second place bidder and the third. Two very large snipes. It's a great card and I don't think I've ever even seen a photo let alone a postcard of the outside of West Side Park.

Posted By: Josh Evans
Dan, incredible postcard and I've never seen it.

But it brings up an interesting issue I just thought of. Traditionally, real photo postcards have easily outstripped real photos in terms of value. For example, I remember finding things in Cuba and turning photos over and seeing they were real photo postcards rather than simply photos. My heart would leap in the realization that it’s not just a picture of Ray Dandridge but a postcard as well. [The Cubans at the time didn’t understand the huge premium a postcard would bring over a simple photo. That has since changed btw.]

Well now that photo prices are rising so quickly will there be a point in the future where photo value will surpass real photo postcard value. Where there will be no premium. Or where postcard collectors will not appreciate the photo value as much as photo collectors do?

Or am I coming across as merely trying to pimp the value of sports photos.
