Can you please help identify the card, yr and value?

Unless it has a postcard back, it is a 1947-1966 Exhibits card. Looks like it's in rough shape. A EX/EXMT example would go for about $50.

Are there reproduced ones out there? How can you tell if there is. Is this one worth $40??

I don't think that is worth $40 in the shape it is in.

The Robinson was "officially" reprinted, but it would say so on the bottom right corner. Not sure if there are any counterfeit Robinson's out there, but this looks legit (from the scan). If the back is white (not tan), then it's fake. If it's tan, it's probably legit. It's not a rare/high dollar card either, so not much value to faking one.

Sometimes it get's a bit interesting with these since there were so many printings/years using the same photo. And they can vary from grey to brown on the front (among other things).

Just as with T205s, etc, compare it to legitimate examples. ;)

Robinson

I paid $8.50 for mine and looks to be in better shape than yours.

That sounds about right. I auctioned one off recently, as part of a group of 30 or so (including HOFers), all in a little better shape than your Robinson, and the lot went for $85. Like $2.40 per card.

Still, that Jackie Robinson was my only card of him, and it was one of my favorites!

Its real but in that condition I would say value in the $10-15 range, now if it had the postcard back that would be another story.

Jackie was not included in any of the fake exhibits but was in the 1980's reprint sets as mentioned above.

Thanks Ted, your lot went to a good home!

That's awesome! I am glad to know it was picked up someone who will appreciate them. I have met a few others that picked up some of my lots, and I am just tickled about knowing some of the folks that won them! Congrats!
