Saco River Auction is pleased to announce that on August 15 2018@5PM we will be selling numerous items from the grandson of Harry Lord including many one of a kind items that were owned by Harry Lord during his life and playing career.

As many of you know, Harry was from Kezar Falls Maine and played for the Boston Americans/Red Sox 1907-1910 and was The Captain and 3rd baseman during his time. He then played for the Chicago White Sox from 1910-14 and also was the Captain there.

Harry died in Westbrook Maine in 1948 and left behind his cherished items to his family.

We have acquired these items directly from Harry Lord's grand son's estate.

That photo of a 1910 all-star team was assembled by Jimmy McAleer at Connie Mack's request to play the A's before the world series that year, since the AL ended their season a week earlier than the NL and Mack was worried that the delay would hurt his team in the series. They played five games, the all-star team winning the first four, and Mack credited the exhibition series with keeping his team sharp enough to easily take the Cubs in the world series.
