New "old" Member Here, "E" questions

I go back to the Fullcount days but lost you guys along the way; looking for "E" reference materials for my library; as Lipset, Monster, etc. did for "T"s. Am focussing on E98 right now and am familiar with the color variations, but was wondering for starters if there are subject scarcities or are they all equal.

Hey Ben ,

I don't collect them but I think it's another one of those sets that need more study . Of course the most sought after variation is the " Old Put " back stamp which we have talked about a little on here usually in reference to it being real or faked .

Welcome back

Ben,
Welcome back to the board. There are many interesting items about the e98 set. There are many past threads about tougher to find commons and hall of famers. I still believe it is a tougher set to find. Auction after auction, other E issues are for sale, but I still rarely see e98s and e94s. If you ever have any specific questions please don't hesitate to private message me anytime. You can enjoy my E98 Master Set on page 101 of our current threads. Best wishes on your E98 collecting.

WOW! Tim! Awesome!

Thank you for directing me to your Master set; I just kicked back in the recliner and spent some quality time. I love this stuff!

Hi Ben,

Not sure if you missed the "Black Swamp Find" in your absence...the most significant event in terms of E98 ever. Many hundreds of practically mint, uncirculated E98 cards found in one place.

I think for any card collector considering E98 you need to study and understand the ramifications of this enormous find of cards on the values of this set.

There are many, many published write-ups on this...here is a short one:

Blair - I completely agree with your assessment that the Black Swamp Find completely changed the E98 landscape. Quite the significant find...

Ben - Welcome back to the board. I suggest you absorb the magnitude of the Black Swamp Find before diving back into E98.

Best regards,

Eric

I agree. Stick a chunk of caramel in your mouth and try these cards on for size. They too are in need of love. (Walsh has a sunburn)

I can't add much to set info, but here is my BSF miscut to contribute to the thread and it does indicate that Ford was above Mack in production:
