I was curious if this is the earliest color image of baseball.

Rob L

Posted By: Jason
Yes, I think it is considered the Earliest Color BB Print. JFYI the 1st print of an actual game was of the Eagles vs Gothams done in 1857. Although woodcuts of bat and ball games can be found back to the early 1800’s, the fist print to actually refer to baseball by name was published during 1834 in the Boy’s Book of Sports by Robin Carver. Rules for Base” or “Goal Ball” are referred to and there is a woodcut of Children playing ball on Boston Common.
