It was a ticket till a bit of marketing genius got PSA to slab it and that was used to convince poor Keith that it was a card. Tickets to many of last year's Yankee games had player's pictures on them. I don't think anyone would consider these cards. I would be interested to hear what Lew Lipset thinks on this issue.

If my memory serves me correctly, I believe that at the time it was issued, the purchaser had the option of purchasing a regular ticket, or for a premium price they could buy this "card" that could be used as a ticket. I think that if there was a 2002 Topps Yankee Insert Card that was issued that would also allow the owner to get into a particular Yankees game while keeping the "card" it would be considered a card, not a ticket. If there were no regular tickets issued for the Hoboken game, then I would consider this a ticket.<BR><BR>2. As I have told people before, I have one simple rule that helps me determine whether or not I believe that an item is a card or not. Basically, if it looks like a card, and it feels like a card, then it is a card. To me, it definitely looks like a card, and I would imagine that it feels like a card, so I consider it a card. I'm not at all familiar with the Yankees Tickets with Player Photos, but I imagine that it looks more like a ticket than a card.<BR><BR>Just my opinion.

It would come close to matching most of the cards in my collection, but still be the jewel. Maybe one to keep my Mattie portrait company...most of the back missing, two tackholes, and a combination of glue and tape residue from previous owners that make it a truly sticky mess. Oh well, that's my dream card.

The reason for this is twofold; first, I have a somewhat limited budget, and second, a well handled card has 'personality' and is a testament to its old age. <BR><BR>On that note, I'm gonna second Jeff's choice- my dream card is also the Goodwin Champion Anson. I think it is the most beautiful baseball card ever produced.
