I completely agree Bad Bill should be in the HOF and I can't figure out why he keeps getting passed over by the Eras Committee. (The Eras Committee is really lame IMO, but that's another story.)

I'm really not a WAR guy, but Dahlen ranks #50 on the All-Time WAR list. Every eligible player above him on that list with a few exceptions is in the HOF and his career WAR is better than Bench, Reggie, Jim Thome, Frank Thomas, Heilman, Jeter, Gary Carter, Edgar Martinez, Trammell, Paul Waner etc. which tells you what kind of company he's in. 5 times in the league's Top 10 in HR and extra base hits. Not bad numbers for a deadball-era shortstop.

Wake up, EC!!! Put this guy in the HOF!

For whatever reason his signature just doesn't come up. Seems like with a death date of 1950 it should be seen more often. Here's one I picked up a few years back. Not sure if Bad Bill ever makes Cooperstown, but he was a heck of a player.

I went through my autographs tonight ( still numbering in the low thousands ) and found my Bill Dahlen autograph to my surprise. It’s not for sale because I must have kept it for some reason when Jim helped me liquidate part of my extensive collection several years ago .
