Josh,

I didn't mean to incite jealousy, but I thank you for the compliment.

Greg,
Super registration on your Zack Wheat T206. It's generally blurry and out of focus. Great looking card!

Let's just say this year's Pirate celebration was better than the first one I attended:

Heh.

Now THAT would be a true rookie card!

After picking up the Hindu Lajoie, I told myself I was going to lay low for a while. Man, I have no will power.

My first baseball tintype and I just love it! So much going on!

Four ballplayers
A Bat
A Rifle
A Flute
A dog

Any ideas as to a date? My guess is 1870's or early 1880's but really have no idea.

Wow, some amazing pick ups this month. That Ruth is unreal Pete!! Also love Dean's Tolstoi Matty too... I've decided to make a modest Matty back run, and would love that one. Grabbed a Sov 460, and also found this fun P350. I'm in no way looking for miscuts/freaks nor do I think this qualifies as freak, but do think I got a small discount due to the qualifier.

A couple more late July pickups... happy to snag this E135 Sisler today in a daytime eBay auction, and just received the Mantle, also off eBay.

This page is full of all sorts of WIN. Congrats to

Tom (x2 -- love the tintype and the little guy cab. The pose and look of confidence in the tyke makes the piece!),
Dean (bold reverse!),
Pete (whoa ),
and Ian (how the heck did the Mantle get the MC qualifier? Reverse?).

Great stuff!

pokerplyr80 08-01-2015 02:43 PM

Great pickups! I love that Ruth. And that 56 Mantle is the first dead centered card I've ever seen with an OC qualifier.

Peter_Spaeth 08-01-2015 03:10 PM

MC not OC

Sorry, meant to type MC. I've never seen a card with either designation and a dead centered front. Nice pick up, especially if it was anywhere close to what an OC or MC 5 would normally sell for.

Thanks guys, re- Mantle. Yep, it is miscut on the back. I'm already not hugely concerned with centering, so definitely don't care much about back centering!!:D

Ian...

the super print matty 460 is very tough:eek:

the m/c matty will give a small premium, too bad it wasn't 50/50 split back, would be a HUGE premuim:)

great other pick ups guys!
