They were still getting many bids per minute. I have high bids on two items and I also have one item consigned. I wish it would end right this minute and I would be very happy.

I just always wish there was a feature where you could see which, of all lots, are the ones that got bids within the last 15 minutes to keep it open another 15 minutes. It might be stuff in the Americana section that is getting the ongoing bids. I was trying to avoid hunting around through individual auctions. Mainly, I think it would be kind of fun to watch some late-inning fights over items, instead of watching my few just sit there.<br /><br />J

Burns refutes the myth that Abner Doubleday invented baseball in Cooperstown and traces its roots instead to the earliest days of the nation — there are records of a game called "Base" played at Valley Forge. (This is where they show the book and mention it)

Baseball, a combination of cricket and rounders, can be argued when it truly started. It certainly was played before Cooperstown, but that gets into the official introduction vs. unofficial playing. <br /><br />So Cooperstown is likely the birthplace of organized baseball. The true origin is up for debate, but probably goes back to the 1600's. <br /> <br />

I might be interested in a Ramly or two, but I stayed on the sell side last night - had 20 or so high grade T206's, mostly Boston players - thought the Speaker might go for more, but the commons went for sick prices that I just do not understand. I'll buy the Boston players back in 4's or 5's already have the Speaker in a 5.

Very sad about that.<br /><br />Walked away with the E107 Roy Thomas, but that is it.<br /><br />Also thought I had an outside shot at the Allegheny Kid Gleason, but that literally tripled in the extended hours, and I decided to focus more on the Buffington.<br /><br />Argh
