Please Show cards you believe could be one of a kind in your collection

After looking at some of the "lesser publicized cards" thread it got me to thinking as I look at cards I have not ever seen before and wonder if owners out there believe in the potential they own the only example? I realize it goes against logic to come out and say a card is one of a kind, but it would be neat to see cards in your collection that you have never seen another example and simply post a scan and let it sit in this thread to be proved otherwise. Of course this doesn't mean it is one of a kind, but please post a card (or two, or three) that you think might be one of a kind. (Nothing would surprise me)

Here are 2 cards I posted in the lesser publicized thread that I have never seen another, and I believe could be the only existing copy for whatever reason. The Tin Top was not on the SCD checklist up until I contacted the editor a few years ago to have it added. (My apologies for the large scans - I have no idea how to reduce them)

As far as I have been able to figure out this is the only e90-1 exclusive artwork that has a blank back.

I'll throw a few of my favorites in there. I'd suspect all of being unique or one of a kind errors/printing goofs although I don't think any really fall into the "scrap" category.

The M116 Mitchell is a black and white variation and I only am aware of one other m116 like this in existance. The e95 Cicotte should be fire-engine red but is instead neon orange. The e94 Doolan represents not only the only silver e94 Doolan, but the only silver e94 period that I'm aware of in existance. And honestly, I have no clue what that McGraw card even is! It's got the feel of a handcut caramel card of some sort and the pose is the same used on his e94. That's about all I know on that one :)

I have a bunch but these were handy scans...

This is a University of Penn. FRESHMAN baseball schedule from 1912 featuring Dooin of the Phillies...never seen another and cannot imagine too many survived anyway.

http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u...dinginside.jpg

This is a newspaper postcard and also features Dooin from 1915. There is a Mack version which I have seen a couple of but have not seen another Dooin yet. Again, probably not one of kind but close enough.

I think the Henry Johnson cards are pretty rare to begin with, but this might be the only example signed by the player:

Ooh, that's fantastic. I collect Henry Johnson cards, and I've never seen a signed one.

I don't think there is another Eddie Collins T205 like this one. Therefore, I'd say it falls in the category of "one of a kind".

Yes there was a thread but none were of e90-1 exclusive artwork, all the others could be found in other sets. So though they were marked as e90-1 by grading companies they could have been from any set. I have yet to find one from the list of fronts found exclusively in the e90-1 set.

This thread is here to prove people wrong and I welcome it. I could be wrong, and haven't been looking long but I have searched the archive and started a thread looking for one. Most threads that are archived on the subject seemed to have the common theory that there weren't any found.

Rob

The card you see here is the one REA recently sold.

For some years now, there were several collectors who wanted this Herzog and since it was (to the best of my knowledge) "one of a kind",
I consigned it to REA to see what its market value would rise to.

Thanks for the compliment.

Thanks for clarifying, Ted. Sorry you don't own the card.

There must be cards actually in your collection that you think are one-of-a-kind. Would love to see them if you have scans.

So YOU got the one I used a magic marker on!! I never thought I would see it again.

BTW, I could go on for days posting in this thread. It is sort of an unfair game because this is exactly the stuff I collect...

I'm not sorry that I no longer own this card. Had it for years. I realized a very nice profit by selling it. And, It's nice to know that
some one else enjoys having it in their collection.

To quote Kenny Rogers......" you've got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em ".

As is so often the case, you make a great point, Ted. Very shrewd of you to sell the Herzog when you did. Given that you've been collecting T206s since the 1970s and had an eye out for rare backs before most people did, there must be an incredibly large number of them in your collection that will net a nice profit when you sell.

Plus, as long as you still have the scans to post in threads like this, in a way you still own the cards.

Congratulations on the sale of the Herzog.

This would be the closest I have to a unique card, e93 Mathewson with a blank back. This card was not included in the Legendary lot several years ago and also does not have the near perfect centering that those cards had.

Brad - you look like a combination of Lefty Grove and Tom Glavine in that shot. It's too bad that you don't own the Boardwalk and Baseball "no slash" variation of that card. It would command a 5-10x premium!!

Adam - That Joe Sport Stamp, most likely, is from a similar newspaper publication as my Vander Meer sport stamp. Vandy was playing for Nashville only in 1936, and appeared in the Atlanta-Georgian newspaper publication with this sport stamp which looks just like your Chicago-American Joe sports stamp. (Mine is paper thin)

E93 11-08-2013 09:39 PM

I am almost certain these are both one-of-a-kind. There is no image of either of them in the Old Judge book. Until recently many advanced OJ collectors thought they were erroneously cataloged. Now confirmed.
