Altered reprint big time!

I say fake. The white paper at the bottom of the card screams altered. Ne1 else have a different opinion?

Impossible to tell for sure from the photo.

But even if authentic, that card is completely obliterated.

I wouldn't pay more than $200 for it even if authentic. It's horrible.

If it was real, it would be worth a lot more than $200. A hellava lot more.

I don't think it can even be slabbed.

Not enough card left.

It's next to worthless.

Plank is one of the big 4.

If that card were a stamp, I don't care if it's an inverted Jenny, it's worth maybe 1-2% of book value in that condition.

We're talking Plank. Compare to a Wagner.

"The T206 Eddie Plank is not only the set's second most valuable card, but is arguably the hobby's second rarest and most valuable card behind the T206 Wagner. "

Take a look at the printing under 40x magnification and you should be able to see some trace of the original printing.

If it's real, I would be shocked if anyone pays more than $1,000 for that card.

As I stated above, it's fake. The white at the bottom of the card says that. Wrong card stock. But if it was real...mega bucks.

I don't think it matters much if a reprint is altered or not.

Reprint without question

It looks like a reprint that has been abused to make it appear older. And I think that if it was real, it would sell in the thousands. It's still a Plank. There is a Wagner in Memory Lane that was in terrible shape before it was restored. It still sold for over $200K before the restoration.

I beg to differ. If the reprint is altered then the best it can receive is an AUTHENTIC grade if it is encapsulated....... vomit.... :p

Check out the following thread for the topic of restoring a desirable card that is in pretty beat condition.
