Damn. Good for you. Great buy vs realized prices. Amazing piece and one that belongs in your Cobb collection. I bet you were nervous; big stakes with every bid at that level. I was watching it. Congratulations to you.

3-2-count 02-25-2018 05:16 PM

Which might explain why none of the posts following Jeff's have included a pickup. Haha.

Nice snag Jeff!

Jeff takes all the cake indeed. But I am still proud of this fella. And if any net54 member ended up with the 1904 Pittsburgh Leader Wagner, congrats and great battle, you win!

orly57 02-25-2018 10:12 PM

Congrats on that Wagner! I think you got a steal. I was watching it closely. Definitely high on my want list.

ValKehl 02-25-2018 11:10 PM

Congrats Jeff! Your pickup deserves a thread unto itself!

oldjudge 02-25-2018 11:24 PM

Nice job Jeff! It’s a beautiful card.

calvindog 02-26-2018 05:11 AM

Thank you to all. :)

Super excited to add this, gets me to 22/25...all from a member reaching out.

That’s enough to inspire me to collect them myself! Wow!!

True not much else would unless another member picks up a Wagner. Nice pick up Jeff. A relative bargain compared to what they were reported to go for when the find was first announced.

Big Six 02-26-2018 09:19 AM

Almost embarrassed to follow up a Cobb back and Wagner Rose with these two...but I will...it’s how I roll. Thanks Leon...my T205 journey continues...

Congrats on the Cobb, Jeff— must've been a thrilling auction for you.

Rose Wagner is a great card as well; kudos for bringing that home, Rhotchkiss.

That N300 Anson is outstanding. Great card & aesthetically better than the Cobb for me.

KMayUSA6060 02-26-2018 04:33 PM

So we can all agree that Jeffrey wins the month of February, right?

Onto March...

oldjudge 02-26-2018 04:56 PM

Mayos are beautiful cards when they are in that condition, and if you are looking to work on a 19th century baseball set, Mayos are really the only one that can be finished.

Rhotchkiss 02-26-2018 05:44 PM

It’s nuts that the Anson is like a throw-in, after the Cobb. I agree, close the thread, onto March!

Um...no, no...you don't want to collect this set...at least until I'm done ;).

Jason Carota 02-26-2018 06:48 PM

Beautiful Anson, Jeff!

Wow Jeff - an absolutely amazing pickup! One of the premier cards in the hobby at that grade. I sold my “2” in 2016 and still regret it. Not much left for you to conquer for Cobb cardboard....maybe it’s time to sit back and enjoy your unrivaled Georgia Peach collection!

Regards,
Joe T.

Took a chance on this Fred Clarke walking stick. Might be missing a piece or two but I think it's cool.

Huysmans 02-28-2018 10:21 AM

That walking stick is EXTREMELY cool Chris... congrats!
Is it an auction pick-up?

Jobu 02-28-2018 10:37 AM

+1 --- very neat piece!

Yes, it was a Best Offer on eBay for about 3 hours when I saw it. Consignor bought it in a Pennsylvania auction. I'm not sure if it had more of a handle or a piece of rubber on the bottom end at some point.
