Have to give Seth @ 19th Century a hand!

Posted By: Scott Elkins
Another great auction. Not only did I win four lots, but two were less than my ceiling bids! Seth sure runs one of the most honest auctions around - and has some great items as well!

Posted By: Chris
I wasn't lucky enough to win any auctions this time around, but I have to say that 19th Century Only does a great job. There always seems to be a good selection of affordable items even for my limited budget. I wish I would have bid more aggressively on a few lots.

Even though 'possibly trimmed', this seemed like a great Ruth for less than $800:
http://www.19thcenturyonly.org/site/bid/bidplace.asp?itemid=2960

Posted By: Rob McKenzie
I should have bid on the Lone Jack Caruthers. I assumed it would go for around 4 or 5 thousand so I didn't sign up.

To use MW's words I took a Lone Jack Cauthers reprint off ebay and out of the hobby about a month ago for $72. I should have listened to Hankron's rules about reprints. I'm in for the next one.

Posted By: warshawlaw
I won one lot for my lowest bid--replaced a set of cards I'd sold a few years ago and have regretted selling ever since, and at 40% of what I got for the set.

Posted By: Peter Thomas
I won 5 N172's all @ opening bid at 10 when there were no other bids I Knew these were mine and with about $1000 spent I didn't feel a need to bid on other items where I was not the high bidder - had a glass of wine and watched a movie. Seth does a very good job with his opening bids quite a few are won at the opening bid and almost all lots are opened. Less stress for both buyers and sellers I think.

Posted By: Amy
It's nice to hear about an honestly run auction.

I have a question: Has anybody here ever won one of Verkman's auctions for LESS than their maximum bid?

Posted By: David Seaborn
I also thought the auction was handled very well. I came away high bidder on four lots and am quite pleased. Someone squeezed me out of some beat up Turkey Reds there at the end, but other than that I'm happy. Thanks Seth!!
