Picking a top 3 is tough, and mine could change by the day. But for today, here are my favorite 3 (any player, not just those posted below)

Post your top 3 favorites; not your most valuable or rarest, but the three you like the best, and quick story as to why for each.

1. T206 Plank -- Well, because its a Plank and because its one of the prettiest examples I have ever seen.

2. E92 Crofts Cocoa Cobb -- I love this pose and the combo is super tough. I am thrilled to own it.

3. T216 Mino Wagner -- I love Wagner, I love this pose/card, and this is a super tough front/back combo.

Lets see some of your favorites.

rats60 10-08-2019 08:23 AM

1. I like my Plank too, t206 is my favorite set.

2. My favorite Cobb.

3. I don't have a Wagner that I would put here yet, but I will go with my favorite Clemente even if it isn't prewar.

Awesome, but to clarify your top 3 do not have to be Plank, Cobb, and Wagner. They can be any player(s).

The sheet because I think it's pretty cool
The Wagner because it's as close as I'll get to the T206
The K-Zoo team because, well, Ol' Hoss and friends on one card is damn awesome for an early Boston collector like me

In no particular order:

1. 1910 PC796 Cobb/Wagner SGC 1.5!!! - I like it because the biggest stars in the game were shaking hands before the 1909 WS. Plus the hobby friendship I made while purchasing it at The National 2019 from Don Hontz. Don was selling Cobb postcards at the show like it was a flash sale.

2. 1913 M101-3 Sporting News Ty Cobb PSA 1. I was wanting to purchase this card at The National 2019 as well but I bought PC796 cobb/Wagner instead. I purchased a PC796 Honus Wagner psa 2 in Heritage a few weeks prior so it made sense. I love the image on the card. The hint of color on his face makes this card pop.

3. 1907 Dietsche Ty Cobb Batting Rookie SGC 3. It was my first Postcard purchase and it was a must have for my collection.

Exhibitman 10-09-2019 11:06 AM

My favorites have more to do with memories than value

The first old card I ever owned:

https://photos.imageevent.com/exhibi...ps%20Dropo.jpg

I must've been about 9 when I got it.

The first T206 I ever owned:

https://photos.imageevent.com/exhibi...on%20ready.jpg

Bought it from Mike Berkus at one of his Anaheim shows in the late 1970s, for twelve bucks. I remember because that was a big piece of my card budget for the day but it was a card I'd wanted for a while.

I met Hank Aaron:

I have too many favorites to pick just 3. But, being as I absolutely love (1) having 1-of-1 cards (per the pop reports), and (2) having real-photo, b & w cards, I'll go with these 3 WaJos, which meet these criteria:

Impossible to pick just 3... So will focus on aesthetics rather than monetary value.

I guess I'll go with these, which combine the subjects of HOFers accompanied by gorgeous colors and background scenes. Especially the Waddell T206. One of the prettiest cards ever, IMO.

Credit really goes to my Mom and Aunt, who saved all my "goodies" from my youth when I was away in the Air Force.

Hi Pete

That diagonal "scar" from Mickey's left ear (on down) is not a crease, but a surface scratch.

And, I don't know what caused it. All my other 1952 TOPPS cards which I originally collected (Spring 1952 to Fall 1952) average VgEx to Ex.

Furthermore, there is a Net54 member whose original Mantle has the same "scratch". Perhaps, if he is reading this, he will post his Mantle here.

The "surface scratch" on his 1952T Mantle is remarkably similar to the one on my Mantle card.

Mine changes by the hour! :D

Before I post them, let me say that I used to own the 52' Topps Mantle in my 20s. I was too busy working, getting drunk and chasing girls, and the card just sat there collecting dust. Eventually I sold it. I have attached it below.

My top 3 right now can be seen below the Mantle. I am always open to trading for a 1951 Bowman Mantle. :)

3. C.1925-26 RPPC of Ruth, wife, Fred Merkle and Brother Matthias sitting in new car that I believe was a gift from Ruth outside of St. Marys school.

1. Lajoie -- Have owned since I was a kid in the '80s. A ton of sentimental value.
2. Traynor -- Only non-"biggie" (i.e. non-Wags, -Ruth, -Gehrig) that I kept from the non-T206 HOF collection I busted up several years ago. So I must really like it.
3. Cobb -- Just love the image purity on this and other SC 150/25s.
