What are these cards?

I've had these cards for 10 years or more. Can't remember where I got them. I've asked around at the last 5 or 6 "NATIONALS" and haven't got a definitive answer. They stumped some old time very knowledgeable collectors. Cards are black and white. The 3 card panel measures 7 and 1/4" by 3 and 1/4". The 4 card panel measures 10" by 2 and 7/8". They are blank backed on a thin cardboard stock. I remember selling a 6 card panel that had a few Yankees on it. Any ideas? Thanks, Sam Majors

They would have to be 1954 or 55 with Mathews listed as Milwaukee and Reynolds last year playing being 1954.

I personally call those type of cards "really cool".

You might want to try posting them in the post war section.

Hi Sam,
Admittedly cards are not my forte, as I am more of a memorabilia collector, but they definitely have the look of originating from a baseball magazine/ publication of some sort from the 1950's.
Good luck in finding your exact answer.

I originally thought they might have something to do with the 1953 All Star Game based on the players and their descriptions. Robin Roberts started the game, Allie Reynolds lost it, Jackie Robinson was a late inning replacement, Eddie Mathews, Stan Musial, and Pee Wee Reese all played, but I couldn't find anything of Mel Parnell being on the roster even though he went 21-8 that year. When these types of items show up, blank backed and printed on thin cardboard, they are usually found to be cut from a lp record album or a board game box.
