Acquiring My Holy Grail

29 different 1964 Topps coins including Mantle, Yaz, Aaron, Mays, and Clemente. All coins neatly "hole-punched" and sewn onto a child sized baseball cap! $21.27 eBay pick-up, they're real and they're spectacular!

That is spectacular, great pickup!

I remember seeing Topps offers for a Big League cap if you mailed them a certain number of wax wrappers. They would send your team of choice. Did wax wrappers from 1963-65 include an offer like this? Maybe this cap is one of those mail-in offers?

A pure guess but the inside of the hat looks 50's. Rick

Larry - I agree they're real ... but they ain't as spectacular as Terri Hatcher!

Cheers,
Patrick

Well done!

Congrats! So if you got it for $27, I wonder how much your snipe was. :)

mrmopar 06-21-2017 05:53 PM

I hope that is home made and not something Topps would charge money for in the 60s!

Guru, I'm surprised no one mentioned the cooking pot that you are using (presumably) to hold the cap out for display.

Clever usage.

I have to discuss with wifey about using some of the familytoad cookware to display my hats

I do have many wrinkled cards, perhaps she might let me borrow the flat iron or the panini press.

As always, Larry leads the way in hobby creativity!:p:p
