Help Please:How to Crack a SGC case?

Hello, I won a T210 series 6 SGC A Goostree with bat in Joe's charity auction on the site and I was wondering what is the best way to crack a sgc case? It is the only card I have in a sgc holder and my other five T210 6's are not in cases so I want to take it out. What are some of the way's that my fellow board members have used to bust cards out of a sgc holder? As always I am greatful for any help. Thanks

Take a pair of pliers and gently break one corner of the top of the case and then gently slide a screwdriver down one side and lightly pry the two halves apart. Should be fairly easy, just go nice and slow.

Totally agreen with Darren.
Try and be careful when sliding screwdriver down case as it might hit card. Happened to me once but luckily no major damage to card. I usually run screwdriver down both sides of case to make it easier to open.

If you run a search for the word "screwdriver" you'll find about half a dozen threads on this topic. I use the same method as Darren described. Two things:

1) Turn your head away before you snap off the top corner of the slab, so that you don't end with an SGC 70 cornea.

2) Hold the screw driver close to the tip as you pry, so that your fingers will prevent the screwdriver from getting anywhere near the card.

i took a small flathead screwdriver, put it in the gap between the top portion and the bottom, and twisted gently till the plastic started to give. move the screwdriver up an inch and repeat. continue till the top is separated from the bottom. took me under a minute, easy. good luck!

12 inch chef's knife and a smile!
Start up near the tang to pry the corner, then just slip the blade into the opening, twisting as you go.
I like to save then up though, as it is not much fun cracking just one.

Congrats on another KY boy!

If you go to any show where SGC is set up I am sure they would crack it out for you. That way you would be sure not to damage your card.
