LOL it is an illusion:)

The age of internet make things look not scarce... the internet open the market !

Rengaw 04-24-2012 09:01 PM

The Authentic in Vintage looks gorgeous. Any idea why it's "altered"? Probably due to the bottom being more than "trimmed", almost looks chopped.

Steve D 04-24-2012 09:09 PM

There's another SGC 40 T206 Plank in Heritage's auction next week.

Who has the PSA 8 T-206 Plank?

ebrehm 04-25-2012 07:04 AM

PSA 8 Plank

Last I heard, both the PSA 8 T206 Plank and the PSA 8 T206 Wagner are owned by Ken Kendrick, who is owner of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

I never see a beckett plank...

glchen 04-26-2012 12:21 PM

According to Beckett's pop report, there is one Plank graded bvg3 in their pop. Note that Beckett does not include Authentic grades in their pop report.

It's pretty unbelievable that there are seven Planks on the market right now. For those that are interested we have added a page T206 Plank Sales History to the T206Resource.com site. There are still a few images and bits of information we are tracking down and we will continue to update the page with new and old information as it becomes available. Also a gallery the images corresponding with each identified example will soon be added as well.

Maybe there was another Verrill 'what did I find?' find.

g_vezina_c55 05-04-2012 06:01 AM

The héritage plank iLook like to be not sold... ? It is avalaible for direct sale

jimross 05-05-2012 08:52 PM

I guess I am definitely not familiar with how HA runs their auctions. Based on my record, the highest bid of their Plank was $67,500 ($80,662.5 with buyer's penalty) but now the card is available to "Buy Now" at $80,662.5. Shouldn't the highest bidder of $67,500 won the card?? How come it is available for sale as post-auction buys for direct sale??? As far as I know, their "post-auction buys" are for materials that didn't sell.

Weird....

X2 i dont understand

benchod 05-05-2012 09:17 PM

Heritage bid the card up to 67.5k and the next bid would have met the reserve. It said so if you visited the actual lot #

g_vezina_c55 05-06-2012 06:47 AM

Memory l'âne end at 70

jimross 05-06-2012 07:54 AM

$83300 to be exact! (with 19% buyer's penalty)

g_vezina_c55 05-06-2012 06:30 PM

Same card sold for 94k last year...

g_vezina_c55 05-11-2012 07:09 AM

The authentic Plank was sold for $25,726 with buyer fee include. Last year in may 2011 this card was sold for 22 700, so it is a good sale at 25 726.... 3000 inflation...

g_vezina_c55 05-13-2012 04:46 PM

Wow
All the rea plank sold for ridiculous price

Last week 25700 for auth card and this week 25 for a graded 2...All the plank According to me was sold for bargain price

Baseball Rarities 05-13-2012 06:42 PM

The Authentic example was a 150 back - you cannot compare that to a 350 back.

With any back, 25k for a graded 2 plank is a bargain

g_vezina_c55 05-14-2012 07:00 AM

All Plank auction Close.

Price updated in the first post.

This sgc 30 was sold in 2007 at REA for 35K and now with the fee, arround 29K, it is bad for the owner of this Plank.

http://bid.robertedwardauctions.com/...x?itemid=21875

And this PSA6 MC was sold in 2007 for 102 000 $ and now sold for 94 800 $ again, it is bad for the owner.

http://bid.robertedwardauctions.com/...x?itemid=21654

T206Collector 05-14-2012 08:07 AM

Here's the 2007 REA SGC 30 for $35,250 (including BP) in 2007:

http://www.robertedwardauctions.com/.../2007/146.html

And then in 2012 REA for $25,000 (plus juice):

http://bid.robertedwardauctions.com/...x?itemid=21875

That means the seller in 2012 appears to have lost over $10,000 on this Plank -- WOW!

Pretty normal, though...the 2007 and 2008 REA auctions pretty much represent the very highest peak of the card market. Since the crash in the Fall of 2008, most prices have not fully rebounded to those earlier levels.

With limited exceptions (like rare backed T206s), buying cards at auction in 2007-2008 to sell up to today's date would have been a bad investment.

Cheers,
Blair

g_vezina_c55 05-14-2012 01:53 PM

The financial crash is probably another reason why since 2 month arround 7 eddie plank was for sale.....

Good point. And after the lows of 2009-2011, I think some people felt 2012 might be a better time to sell (I agree that there have been increases in many prices since those lows).

Cheers,
Blair

I think now is a perfect time to buy a t206 Plank. Value should only rise from here for rarer t206 cards. That's just my two cents.
