48 leaf Robinson record sale
Anyone else notice that psa 4 48 leaf Jackie go for 12k last night on pwcc? I didn't check VCP but I'm pretty sure that at least tripled the previous record high.

Robinson
Obviously cant be real as usual
You can buy a 6 up there right now for 10k |
You may be right. But I don't remember seeing too many pwcc sales that were so far above the norm they were assumed to be fake. And I do remember a couple of times when that was the consensus around here, a fake sale, and the buyer came on to explain it was legitimate.
It was a pretty nice looking 4. Hard to find centered like that and the color really popped. |
It was real.

And its glorious

Very recent purchase for 3200.

Is that yours Peter? Great looking card.

Peter's blows away the PWCC example, imo. Seems when PWCC puts the HE or PQ on a card it just goes nuts. Many times I do not see what they see.

Congrats Peter! You should be very happy with your purchase.
And I’m very satisfied with mine, even if it doesn’t meet Chase’s approval or yours. I’ll be sure to consult you guys next time! |

Nice pickup Sam. I'm sure any of us who have paid premiums for centered cards in private sales would also be accused of over paying around here. Most don't understand the prices they command.

The hobby has shifted towards centering being king on high dollar blue chips.
Not kicking Peters out of bed by any means, but Sam's is far superior in today's market. Personally if I were willing to spend thousands on a card like this for my collection, I'd choose the centered example every time. |
Interesting that in the same auction that the 4 sells for more than the 6.

Im new to post on here, so my comments may be less than meaningful. First off, both cards are nice and I would be very happy to own either! Personally, Id much rather have a card that was centered, especially from the 48L set, and while that 4 from pwcc was high, I do think it warrants the strong premium, especially for that issue. As already mentioned, key blue chip cards that are centered are becoming more sought after and collectors are willing to pay more to get them, grade is less important, case in point a good looking 48L Jackie psa 2.5 that had good centering sold for 3199 BIN yesterday. I can name countless auctions where centering and eye appeal drove a huge premium, as Im sure everyone can as well. Since this thread is about the 48L jackie, heres the link to the psa 2.5 I mentioned above just for fun.
