Photobucket WARNING

I know some Net54 members use Photobucket to post images here. They are changing their Terms of Service and what they allow.
I think I filled out an innocent user survey that Photobucket sent me, and I answered that I mostly use Photobucket to post images here on this website. Next thing you know, I have lost access to my images, and get an error message when I post here. In order to allow me to use image linking or allow 3rd party hosting, my cost is $399 a year. I'm learning how to use the image hosting tool here on Net54, meanwhile all my previous messages contain this

It seems like they should have given you a warning? I use our Net54baseball system for hosting most images I post but use my own personal website for hosting ones that need to be larger.

I normally post them to Facebook and then post the link here as an image. You can set the Facebook post to "myself" only and it won't display on any of your friends pages, but the link is still viewable by anyone who has the link (like message boards you post it to).

While we're on this point, is there a reason why the BST threads don't allow embedded images from a different website?

No...

I think the moral to this story is don't answer seemingly innocuous online surveys.

Tom,
I am sorry, but I don't get your response. Please explain if you would.

Read the thread again to understand the post. However, it's not just this guy. Plenty of blowout users are complaining that photobucket did this same thing to them as well.

Here's another way to upload to this forum:

1. Setup account at imgur.com.
2. Click add images.
3. Click on uploaded picture
4. Copy HTML (website / blogs) link

I am pretty happy with FlickR, and it can do a lot more than what I am using it for. It's Free as well and has never given me a hick-up.

Note to Gary and all other affected PhotoBucket users. It is true that all our linked pictures on this and other message boards can't be viewed, but your photos are not "gone". When you view your "Albums" or "Your Bucket" on the PhotoBucket site, notice on the lower right part of the screen under ACTIONS. One of the ACTIONS is "Download Album". Monday I was able to recover over 4,000 images I had stored there, and then uploaded them to "the cloud". You are warned that you only get one download.

Sorry I can't help anymore than that, as I needed technical support from Apple, but mission accomplished. I recovered some important family pictures.

$400 to use a super buggy website like Photobucket?

tazdmb 07-05-2017 11:37 AM

I have multiple "Buckets" in photobucket (like 30 something). I know this is not a tech forum, but does anyone have ideas how to mass download all of my photos?

Thank you
