Turn of the century minor league info?

Posted By: effe
Hi,
I recently picked a 1900 Milwaukee v. Kansas City program and I'd like to do some research on the players. Can someone suggest a good reference guide? I believe this was an American Association game, but I may be wrong on that.
Thanks,
John

Posted By: Jeff Obermeyer
According to "The Encyclopedia of Minor League Baseball" (2nd ed.) the only league to feature teams from both Kansas City and Milwaukee in 1900 was the American League.

Milwaukee, managed by Connie Mack, finished the season in second place with a 79-58 record. KC was 5th with a 69-70 record.

Sam Dungan (KC) led the league in hitting with a .337 average, and Wyatt Lee (KC) led the league in wins with 23.

Jeff
