1926 Exhibit Gehrig

Hi all, below is a link to an ebay auction for a "1926 Exhibits Lou Gehrig". To me this looks like a 1928 Exhibits. Does anyone have an opinion? I'm a novice with Exhibits.

Thanks,
Mike

That is definitely a mis-labeled 1928 Exhibit of Gehrig.

PSA also missed the back stamp :(

Not PSA's finest hour on that one.

I wonder if the bidders know or even care?

Snapolit1 04-24-2018 03:50 PM

The 28 is still a sweet card.

JeremyW 04-24-2018 03:51 PM

I agree but, it's not a '26.

Snapolit1 04-24-2018 05:08 PM

Most of the 28s I’ve seen over the years have terrible water stains. Don’t know why that is. I would take a back stamp any day over a card with a big chunk of brown staining on the front.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the '26 have the same pose as '25 and '27?

Snapolit1 04-24-2018 05:33 PM

Believe that is correct.

Thanks everyone. Beautiful card but PSA dropped the ball. How do they miss the stamp on the back?

BTW, Probstein is the seller and I emailed him. Let’s see he updates the listing.

The price reflects the mistake.

Just wondering, if you resubmitted this to PSA to holder this card in something that vaguely reflects reality, would they charge you to do so?

Sold for $1969. Solid price. Lou cards always in demand. I wish I could buy all of them.

I wonder when it was graded and slabbed... that was quite the obvious error.

ErrorS. Plural. Someone had a 3 martini lunch that day.
