I was a singer for harcore band in the 90's called L.O.S.( Lack of sense)...we played w/ cro mags at THE FASTLANE ( in asbury park n.j.)......we were like the 10 th opening bandsLOL....we played alot with a band called Lethal Agression, and many other hard core bands including Bad Brains, ect.....

I'd like to hear some of that.:D

A one-off swing band named The Get Up to Get Downs (Greg Dulli from Afghan Whigs was lead singer) wrote a song called "Griffey". Chorus went something like "With a sweeter swing than Griffey/Spread on more bread than Jiffy". Don't know if the song was about the ballplayer or an ode to PB&J's.

I was more of a punk/new wave than hardcore fan, though I did like Gang Green and GG Allin. The twenty somethings still give me a 'no way!' or 'wow' when I tell them I saw The Ramones (multiple times at The Paradise), The Clash, The Jam, Mission of Burma, Gang of Four, The Jam, The Stranglers or the DK's with Shaughnessy on drums (about a week before DH Peligro replaced him)

I'm a fan of punk and hardcore. I'm 24 so more into 90's- present hardcore. But of course I'm down with the classics. I seen Cro Mags a few years ago. Unfortunately missed youth of today and gorilla biscuits at rev 25 Chicago. All the late 80's bands are getting back together.

I'm glad I can give a laugh to everyone with the list. :D I'm originally from Worcester. I've been living next to Boston for about 25 years. I tell my wife that my mail is addressed to occupant not resident. I remember seeing Jay Leno at Sir Morgans Cove in Woosta before anyone even knew who he was. I also remember getting kicked out of Ralphs Chadwick Square Dinner when slam dancing was the rage. I had no clue what it was about. I thought people were trying to start a fight. :o

I lived in Mass, for almost 20 years a lifetime ago. I worked (let me stress WORKED) at Met State for a couple years.:D

Since you are originally from Woosta, I am surprised there was no mention of Spags:D. I think the lamps in the guest room STILL have Spags tags on their bottoms.:D Sir Morgan's Cove? I saw the Cochroaches there with free tickets from 'AAF. Turned out to be the Stones warming up for the Some Girls tour:eek:

Hampton Beach? I remember two seafood joints across the street from each other, Markey's and Brown's. I ate at one all the time because it was a BYOB place. I cannot, for the life of me, remember which it was. Also, I spent many a buzzed night at the Club Casino, seeing some great bands.

Spags has been gone for about 10 years now. The father died and the two daughters took over for a while and then sold it all to Building 19. A good stuff cheap place. It was one step above a flea market. That didn't last long. The buildings are all closed up now and has been for a few years.

Have you heard of CIV? It's the Gorilla Biscuits' singer's side gig. They're awesome. Set Your Goals (first album by them) is hardcore perfection

I miss skating. My knees are too messed up to do vert anymore. I grew up on Hosoi, Mountain, Hawk, Mullen, etc.

I've seen C.O.C a couple of times, last time was in support of the album "Deliverance" (which I think is the best album with Pepper singing). The best though (in my opinion) is "Animosity" with the bass player Mike Dean on vocals. Mike Dean is one of my all time favorite bass players.

That link I posted is to the song "Mad World" from the Animosity album, once you are there, the same person uploaded many tracks from Animosity. This is the first album that lead me to punk music back in the eighties. Still love it.

I didn't even know their early stuff was punk. I just figured they were sludge/southern/stoner metal. I started listening to them when Deliverance came out in '94

I was listening to Slayer/Metallica/Exodus etc. and a skater turned me on to them. I loved how raw they were, and Mike Dean shreds on the bass. When I saw them touring in support of Deliverance, they set up on the floor of a small bar with just theater ropes around them :D It was like they were playing in the crowd- one of the best shows I've ever been to.

The Stones were practicing out at Longview Farm Recording Studios. That is why they picked Sir Morgan's Cove to play at. Later changed its name to Lucky's. Two good shows I saw there were The Fleshtones, also saw them at Ralph's, and Peligro with D.H. Peligro from the Dead Kennedys on bass. I lived in Woosta for 5 years on Common St near the liquor store just up the street from Lake Q. Moved to Virginia from there 8 1/2 years ago.

Also, remember Spags was in Shrewsbury, not Worcester.

Just my opinion, but this is not a derailed thread at all. Sports and music are two of the great unifiers. It does not matter what you like, good music is good music. Gabba Gabba Hey!!!
