Take a listen. Very interesting.

That was an awesome listen. Thanks for posting it. Any Babe Ruth fan should listen. You will probably learn quite a bit from the Babe himself.

That was really cool. I would love to hear more.

Pretty cool!

Interesting that of all the pitchers Babe faced he stated he the hardest time with Hub Pruett (due to an unusual windup it seems)...

Pruett is also featured in the W503 and Diaz Cigarettes sets.

Loved it, great to hear that great voice and the Babe talking about pitching and golf.

ullmandds 02-23-2018 11:24 AM

the recall of baseball players always amazes me...ruth remembers games from 30 yrs prior like they were yesterday!

Can't listen right now but am looking forward to it. About how long is it?

sushihotwings 02-23-2018 11:45 AM

So far they only released about 5 minutes, but they anticipate releasing more in the future. I really felt like I was in a time machine for a few minutes.

His responses sounded so natural, but I'm guessing he had the questions lined up ahead of time and had written some notes prior to the interview. His recollection of certain world series games and his scoreless innings streak was pretty amazing (almost too amazing).

Just some quick incomplete research from Ruth vs Pruett:

In 1922, Ruth went 2-for-11 vs Pruett, with a HR, 2 BB and 7 K's
In 1923, he was 2-for-7 with a HR, two walks and 3 K's (missing three at-bats)
1924 he was 0-for-1 with three unknown AB's

So you have him going 4-for-19, 2 HR, 4 BB, 10 K's (6 AB's I didn't find) during the three years they faced each other

Great David! Thanks for Sharing.

That was great! The hardest hitter was sam Crawford ? I wasn't sure what he said. And who was the pitcher? Sounds like the guy was throwing gas and whipping his arm like modern pitchers.

dunno...i went to yankees fantasy camp a few times and al downing was my coach one of those times...the recall he had just shooting the shit at the bar was insane. he remembered tiny little details from his earliest times in the biggs literally 50 years prior.
