ID help Baltimore player Purcell?
 

I have this photo of a Baltimore player written across the bottom is charles w Purcell sr. I can't find anyone by that name in baseball references. I know it may be whoever took the photo etc. Just wondered if anyone could Id the player or year.

Maybe a relative of Blondie Purcell? He played for Baltimore later in his career.

Any chance you can read the name on the barrel of the bat? The bat does not positively belong to the player in the photo, but there's a good chance that it does.

To me the uniform looks 1920's or early 1930's. Could be a semi-pro team in Baltimore.

I found reference to a Charles Purcell being selected to the ""Old Timers Baseball Association of Maryland" but apparently that group doesn't have a website.

So I tend to agree he was either amateur or semi-pro in the Baltimore area.
