My favorite strips that I own are my W516 Becker/Prize backs. If anyone has any of these, even if I already have it, I'd be interested in buying them.

They say, "Save your tablet fronts and win a prize L.A. Becker"

These WaJo strip cards are (in left-to-right sequence): W516-1-1 (beige stock), W516-1-1 (white stock), W516-1-2, W516-2-1, W516-2-2, and W516-2-3. I think both W516-1-1 cards are legit, but if anyone knows for sure one way or the other, kindly let me know.

From a rare set that uses the same artwork as a run of Exhibit 4 on 1 cards.

1923 Little Wonder Picture Series (W515-2)

Choc full of Hall of Famers -- including Cobb, Speaker, Alexander, Hornsby, Johnson, and not just 1 but 2 cards of Babe Ruth -- my complete set of W515-2s are truly a "Little Wonder Picture Series" ...and much harder to find than their smaller, W515-1 counterparts...

One of my biggest peeves with TPG's. As far as I am aware, W575-1s, are not and were not, issued as hand cuts. They are factory cut. If they are hand cut then they are trimmed. Same with W503, never hand cut unless trimmed after the fact. When will they learn? Or maybe someone has evidence to support the crazy notion of these being hand cut. I am open to learning more. sigh....

Two - E95 Cobb that was handed out on an advertising sheet and a King Kelly that was part of what must have been a terrific poster (it measures 3 x 5).

Hiroshi Nakao was a great pitcher for the Yomiuri Giants (in Tokyo) from 1939 to 1957. This card is from the JGA19 set, which was issued as a supplement to the new year's day 1952 issue of a Japanese children's magazine. It came in strips and the kids cut them down. Whoever cut this strip was a bit overenthusiastic with the scissors - there's supposed to be a little bit of text above and below the picture. The text on the right gives his name and below, in parentheses, his team.

His estimates are sometimes questionable, but according to Gary Engel (who wrote the price guide for Japanese cards) there are fewer than ten copies known.

You are right. The Kelly comes from this poster.

Kevin, that poster is awesome. Is there any way to make the image bigger?

Jobu 03-23-2019 09:32 AM

A while back I bought a small copy and scanned it:

Sorry, that is the only image that I have. Unfortunatley, it is not my poster.
