Rob I knew Daryl but he passed earlier this year. One of the nicest guys around. I don't believe he had any Giants memorabilia left. I never seen any other than newer autos. I got many of his local baseball items and a Brooks Robinson hat from his old restaurant. If anything turns up around here I'll let you know.

One thing I noticed was how disappointed he was on missing out on the 54 series due to military service.

Thanks, Clint!

I guess I'm a bad fan....I did not know he had passed. :(

Clint,

Let's see the hat! 😃

Here's the hat. It was made in 1968 but my letter from Daryl said it was used during the 1969 season.

A cool Yogi Berra bat from the 60s.

btcarfagno 07-24-2017 07:05 AM

Signed contract from a league that never actually played a game. The International Girls Baseball League. May be the only one that exists.

Recent pickup, Ken Daneyko practice jersey from his first training camp with Devils. I bought this directly from Keith Parker who was the Devils equipment manager from 1982-1986

I've always loved the skyline patch on Mets jerseys. Too bad they abandoned them for a while but good they're again featured on Mets jerseys.

Extremely pleased with this piece. Measures 15" x 20"

vintagesportscollector 07-27-2017 06:36 PM

Love it Mike!! You are becoming the King of Spalding. The sign is about 1900 to 1905. Where did you pick it up?

ruth-gehrig 07-27-2017 06:58 PM

Thanks Joe! :)
Here is the link for more details of the sign I posted awhile back asking for water damage help

Oakland Raiders First Game Program

Was happy to pick up this football program from the Raiders first regular season game on Sep 11, 1960 vs the Houston Oilers. As there were only 12,000 in attendance that day, I suspect there are not too many of these around.

In fantastic shape, as well!

I will be able to see it better when it comes in. It is a high school poster so it may be a student but who knows? I'll try to figure it out.

Latest pick up. Tidewater Tides jersey, this is a 1969 or 1970 NY Mets flannel jersey recycled to the minors. Seller claims jersey was worn by Tim Foli his only year in Tidewater 1970.

Sophiedog 07-29-2017 10:42 AM

I've been looking to add one of these to my collection for a while. I finally found one within my budget. It served to take a bit of the sting out of my derailed National plans.

Was able to cross two tickets off my list for a total of 50 bucks, which also checked off the box of being cheap right now. LOL
Anyway, got a season ticket for the newest 3000 hit club member, and a 1971 all star game stub. The stub is a bit rough, but actually will display much better than the picture shows. The 71 all star game was the second AS game that I remember watching as a kid, and also the game that Reggie really took the national stage with his homerun that hit the transformer on top of Detroit stadium.

This Cubs mini in pristine condition, that was very fairly priced, was my most exciting pickup from the National. :D

While there were quite few pinbacks at the show, to my knowledge there wasn't a single Cubs/Tiger pin I wanted/needed available for my collection.

I do really like this Newark Bears pin that I picked up for a bargain price.

I also picked up a Redwings nodder and a couple old University of Michigan pinbacks for my daughter

Bill Rayburn 07-31-2017 02:16 PM

Great pickups Mike, great to see you there as well.

Nice pickup Mike. Those game 7 tickets have really spiked in price, but they do show up at some reasonable prices occasionally...at least mine did and it sounds like yours did too.

Cool pick-up!

Looks like the artist is RJ Dwyer. Couldn't find anything in a cursory search online. I found a James Dwyer who was an illustrator, but he was born in 1898. Being that this piece dates to 1901, that would make this James Dwyer either the wrong person or quite the child prodigy.
