What's up with Mello mints?

I monitored a few cards at the Goodwin auction last night. Noticed two sgc 84's went for about $400 each. I always thought that these cards were tough to find in high grade condition, and they always creased in the middle?

E105's along with pretty much all other E cards continue to be way down. That coupled with Knight and Bescher being two of the more common cards found in the set were the main reason these ended low. Both these cards have higher population figures than most and can be found in mid grade far easier than other players from the set.

I bought a find of 63 Mello-Mints several years ago, which is where the majority of the high grade ones come from. I had about 1/2 grade by PSA the rest SGC. There were to my recollection about 20 each of Knight and Bescher.
There were only a total of about 8 players, the only HOFer was five Cy Youngs.

That's amazing. Thanks for sharing guys. I just assumed the same Knight and Bescher was getting sold in every auction; didn't realize there were that many out there! I guess it gives people a nice high grade type card for a pretty cheap price.

Yup...I've got a mid + grade e105 knight in my collection...tango eggs are kinda similar in that there are a few commons...mcquillan...bescher to name a few that are very common in higher grade for the issue as well.
