Mickey Mantle Photo (Help with Uniform Research)
 

Hey guys, I am at a loss with this image as to the year it was produced or the significance. The photo is highly silverized and is very old with Mickey looking quite young. The stadium is obviously minor league or from some type of tour (not major league stadium). The uniform patch is something I have never seen before and I was wondering if anyone here can help identify the year and why the patch is on there? Any help would be appreciated.

It appears to have the word US ... at the top with two crossed flags (US flag on the left) and some words at the bottom. It is a crest like the one from his rookie year but different.

Can't speak for the photo itself, but the image is from the Yankees' '55 tour of Japan.
