advice on an ebay card

Posted By: mike mullins
Hello, saw this T206 on ebay today. I don't have any cards with old mill backs on me at work, but shouldn't they have a factory designation on bottom like the rest?

http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1006815462

Looking at it again, it looks like the bottom back part of the card is a little lighter than the rest (erasing maybe?). If so, then maybe this card isn't legit... Would appreciate your opinions. Thanks!

mike

Further more the Old Mill back that is shown is for the Southern League players. Last time I check Rube Marquard played for the N.Y. Giants. If this card was real it would be very rare, but unfortunately it's a reprint.
Happy Collecting!
Trevor (snider4prez)

Posted By: Tony
Two other telltale signs are that the front borders are too wide (as they are in the reprint set), and the very bottom of the back of the card, where the word "reprint" would appear is whiter than the rest of the back. It's been bleached. Bleaching and burning seem to be the two most common, and telltale ways of removing reprint from the back.
