"I'll Make it"

Dale: “All right, listen up. Listen up! Here’s what we’re gonna do. Jimmy, they’re gonna be expecting you to take the last shot. We’re going to use you as a decoy.
Buddy, you get the ball and get it to Merle on the picket fence. He’s gonna take the last shot. All right, let’s go!

(Nobody reacts.)
Dale: “What’s the matter with you guys? What’s the matter with you?”
Jimmy: “I’ll make it.”

...was VERY happy to finally find one of these, only 3 are graded by PSA.

Inspiration for the movie HOOSIERS. 1954 Indiana HS Basketball State Championship - Milan 32 Muncie 30.

LOVE that the original ticket holder who witnessed this game wrote the Final 4 Teams and Scores on the back.

As a born and breed Hoosier, I grew up listening to stories about this game from people who were there. They all stated the roar after Plump’s shot went in was deafening.

I think a pretty cool collection of ticket stubs would be the 4 big sports and their famous movie.

So.....

Hoosiers - Basketball

Rudy - for Football

Ferris Bueller - Baseball

I'd say Slapshot, but since no real game played or modeled after maybe Miracle on Ice - Hockey

I could be missing one or two, but can't think of any others offhand.

Would not be an easy (or cheap) collection to amass, but not outrageous, not yet anyway.

....and while I'm sure everyone has seen this:

the real life story is pretty amazing as well:

...also, cool to note, Milan beat a team with Oscar Robertson on it in route to that State title.

I think there is a scene in Lethal Weapon 3 filmed at the Forum in LA during a game between The Kings and Leafs

No, this one is better:

Chelios, Amonte, I think I even saw Ulf Samuelsson!

Although not quite the Hooosiers/Rudy feel good moment, but a helluva save by Van Damme.

What a surprise, a movie that is drastically different than the real life story. Kinda ruins the movie for me. LOL

The climactic game in Slap Shot is in fact loosely based on the deciding game of the NAHL Final of...
1974? 1975?
