1933 Goudey Benny BENGOUGH what's the big deal?

I have noticed that the Benny Bengough card out of the 33 Goudey set goes for the same prices as a lot of Hall Of Famers in the set. What is the big craze over this common player? Why is this card worth a little extra?

First card of this popular set. Difficult to find in good condition.

Doesn't it have to do with the card being #1 and the rubber band around the stack thing. Not to say that shouldn't affect every #1 card on card sets in the 30s - 50s.

First card of a popular set always demands a premium. Look at the 1952 Topps card (Andy Pafko). Even on popular non-sports sets, the first and last cards always get the bump......

There is no justification for a high price and lower and mid-grade levels. It is tough to find at the higher condition levels.

A midgrade bengough 5-6 is not that easy to get. I feel it too should have some premium. lower grades however especially very low grade should have very little to no premium over a common, yet it still does as do most #1 cards.
