'49 Omaha Cardinals Player Booklet

Hoping for some info on this player picture booklet. The tiny red stamp on the back is for Allied Printing and has not aided in finding much out. There are 9-10 pages with nice B&W photos, no big names. How/where were these distributed, how common/uncommon, etc.

Thanks in advance
Craig

I've seen a few over the years, $50-$100. Almost surely handed out to fans before a game in 1949.

Omaha was still a class "A" Western League team in 1949. They played their first full year in the new Omaha Municipal Stadium (renamed Rosenblatt later). They were 5th in a 6 team league but had record attendance due to the new stadium. Interesting book.

I have only come across one of this, it's in a private collection now and the guy got it off eBay over 11 years ago. We always share are latest pickup of vintage Omaha baseball items with each other. Nice booklet!

Thanks gentlemen. I've had it for probably 20 years and just came across it last night. Was looking for some N28s I tucked away. Was a fun box to go through. Probably going to throw it on BST soon and try to pick up some Des Moines Western League item in trade.

Here are some other goodies I found with it:

I lost out on one on eBay many years ago that had each player’s home address written on their photo. I think it probably belonged to one of the players who wanted to keep in touch with his teammates.

That would have been really cool.

I have one of the 1949 booklets, I bought the only one I've ever seen. Very tough item. It does have Fritz Marolewski, Bernie Creger, Joe Presko, and Dick Bokelmann, all of who made the bigs for the Cardinals.
