Slightly OT - Larry Miller

Hello,

I don't post much here, but I wanted to tell you guys about a person I have had a couple of opportunities to meet. His name is Larry Miller and this link http://www.baseball-reference.com/pl...illela01.shtml will take you to his MLB stats.

Larry pitched for the Dodgers along side Koufax and Drysdale. Then later with the Mets along side of Ryan and Seaver.

Larry is an engineer that specializes as a facilitator and we have used him in a couple of partnering meetings with Municipal clients. If anyone here has a need for that type of service, I would highly recommend him. His stories and manner of speech are quite impressive. Great stories of Casey Stengel, Nolan Ryan and Hank Aaron. In fact Larry is in the HOF - twice. On the list of pitchers that Hank Aaron hit Home runs off of!! He is in the 65 and 69 Topps sets.

I know there is also a book (I think he is the author - will update when I find out)about his daughter who was involved in a pedestrian/car wreck at 13 years old that caused her to be in a coma, then written off by the doctors as a life long vegetable, but she fooled them and made a recovery!

Anyway, Larry is a very dynamic guy and I am thankful to have met him and thought I would share.

I remember seeing the movie years ago on TV. If I remember correctly, it didn't mention much about the girl's father being a baseball player, but I did enough research at the time that I figured out the Larry Miller portrayed in the film was, indeed, the ex-Dodger pitcher.

I just checked, and the film was a TV movie, made in 1981 - "The Miracle of Kathy Miller." From the IMDB - "With the support of her parents (Sharon Gless & Frank Converse), an Arizona adolescent (Helen Hunt) overcomes severe injuries to run in a 10K race."

I enjoyed the movie when I saw it - but have no idea if it is available on VHS/DVD, or is still shown on TV occasionally.

I did reach out to the OP for our little local show but unfortunately Larry's fees are several thousand dollars for an appearance which is far more than we could budget for him

All,

Larry's fees are not cheap as Rich pointed out. He may have been a marginal pitcher in MLB, be he is a stellar performer in the Civil Engineering side of things. He specializes in Partnering agreements and dispute resolution. From that standpoint, his fees are very economical. Larry's home is in Arizona.
