Posted By: leon
This card scan was sent to me by another board member who is mostly a lurker, asking for ID help. It's 6.5" x 9". I thought R311 or one of those R series but didn't see it listed, right off the bat. What series is this?

Posted By: Glen V
Could it be a V94 Canadian Butterfinger? Don't have a book around to check the size, but I know they are a little smaller than the regular issue, which are 7.75" x 9.75".

Posted By: Randy Trierweiler
I think this is from the 1949 All-Stars Photo Pack listed on page 26 of the 2007 SCD Almanac. I have the Marion, Musial, and Slaughter from this set. The thick auto is similar to the DiMaggio. Mine measure 6.5"x9. The manual says 6 1/4"x9.

Posted By: fkw
I think Randy is right. I had never seen one of them, but the example pic in the SCD looks the same and DiMaggio is listed ($60).

Posted By: Jim Clarke
I agree with everyone that said 1949. I collect many Dimaggio issues from the thirties and have never seen that before. It looks to be from the 40's or 50's. Nice item though. I know it is not any "r" issues. JC

Posted By: Brian Weisner
Hi Leon,
I will post a huge copy of this photo made from the original negative when I have time. It was taken by an old friend of mine's father who worked for the Cleveland newspaper. This photo is in the hall of fame, and I believe it was taken in 1939 in one of Lou Gehrig's last games. I have a shot of Sweet Lou from the same game and there is a 1939 patch on his shoulder. I will put the kids to bed and see if I can take a decent picture. Be well Brian

PS The photographer's last name was Seid.....
