Trivia Time:

What post-WWII team went 681 straight games- over four plus seasons without having a game started by a left-handed pitcher?

nolemmings 01-10-2015 01:36 PM

Dodgers in the early '90's.

clydepepper 01-10-2015 01:47 PM

Correct Todd-

Bobby Ojeda started on 9/24/1992 & Denys Reyes started on 7/13/1997

I thought that was pretty amazing!

The Team went 356-325 in the four plus seasons making the playoffs only twice (though one was a strike year)- being swept in 1995 & 1996.

A team that had already had Koufax and Valenzuela and was manage by another lefty, Tommy Lasorda.

Jus BAD KARMA!

And Johnny Podres (hero of the 55 WS) and Tommy John (288 wins).

mets41 01-24-2015 11:04 PM

Not only is Hardy the only player to pinch hit for Williams, he's also the only player to pinch hit for Maris and Yaz.

mets41 01-28-2015 08:24 PM

Here's another trivia question: this player hit a homer in his 1st mlb at bat, a triple in his 2nd and never hit another homer or triple again in a career that lasted over 10 years.
