Cool, I noticed they mentioned the Boxing Hall of Fame theft near the bottom of the article. I had no idea there were so many museum thefts within such a close range of each other.

I've gotta think a majority of this stuff is getting chop shopped for jewelry and metal. Can't imagine they could sell it intact without raising a ton of eyebrows.

Article jumped the shark at the very end however, when they mentioned that Autograph forgeries are on the decline and not such a big problem anymore. :rolleyes:

Years ago, in another lifetime :), I owned a sweet shop/gift shop on Madison Ave and 91st St.
I had a t-shirt printing machine in the store.
Long story short, the store was broken into and the machine was stolen.
Cops told me it was probably stolen "to order." The thieves had an order for it before stealing it from me.
My guess is that the stolen memorabilia is going straight into a collection that ordered it.
