Although not Vintage by any means, I am sitting here scratching my head wondering why this card Non Graded/Raw would fetch for over $600 last night???

Someone is gambling on a 9 (poorly imho) plus underbidder has 99% of his bids with that seller.

ullmandds 04-16-2019 01:59 PM

corners look a bit fuzzy to me

KCRfan1 04-16-2019 02:08 PM

The card has a bit of a tilt too.

Peter_Spaeth 04-16-2019 02:27 PM

The winner had left an even higher bid. Insane.

The Nasty Nati 04-16-2019 03:20 PM

No way it gets a 9. Maybe an 8, but I can see it getting a 7.5

ctownboy 04-16-2019 03:33 PM

Is the card tilted or trimmed?? The thin black border line seems to be parallel with the top border but the bottom border seems to be tilted as compared to the black border line.

Makes me feel a little better about how much I have been paying for raw Mantles this month.

My plan is to get the best raw cards I can afford and find and hope they grade high...but, I'm afraid my plan, just like what the OP described, is a fool's errand.

I decided to take this course when I realized how much graded Mantles have gone up since I sold off my last representations.

Let's hope I get as lucky as that guy who put down $85K on Tiger at the last moment.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Same winning bidder as the Ozzie in the OP! Someone with deep pockets just gambling on raw? If he keeps buying like this he's losing, don't thnk that Sutton is more than an 8 either.

Even more shocked

i am even more shocked
that the seller has nearly 18,000 feedback score , a 100% feedback with 9000 transactions in the last year
and no negs' or neutral ,
https://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...ab=AllFeedback

also he has no returns accepted
he sure has some magic sauce

His bidders are a bit more loyal than mine apparently. 99% is strong as gas.

That is a really high price for a raw one.
