T2o6 Set 5o% Complete in Just Under a Year and a Half...
7 Attachment(s)
Wanted to share some of my final T2o6 cards to put me at exactly 50% (262/524) set completion. Would love feedback, valuation opinions, and any additional knowledge that any may have on these.
Harry McIntyre, Bkln. and Chicago Nat'l. $65 I purchased this one for the unique miscut back that also includes the misplaced overprint, leaving the Sweet Caporal 350-460 Subjects back with both the factory 42 & factory 30 (of which there is only 1 on the PSA pop. report) showing. I don't believe it's a "350-460 fact. 30 no-print," but it sent me down that rabbit hole (watching all of Uncle Nacki's T2o6 youtube videos). Joe Doyle, N.Y., Hands Above Head. $15o Knowing I'll never obtain the "N.Y. Nat'l" Doyle, I figured this to be a decent fill in card (especially for the price). I've read a little on the different Doyle variations, but not much. Dubbed the "Poor Man's Doyles" I feel like this variation (missing the top right portion of the Y and period after) might be somewhat hard to come by. I snagged it up quickly off of Ebay and would be curios of others thoughts on valuation. Ty Cobb, Detroit, Green Portrait. $5,5oo Persistence paid off for me on this one. I absolutely love the look and character of this Cobb. Trying for an all off-back set, I'm more than ok with this Cobb due to the unique plate scratch running completely through the "Piedmont" on the back. That's another rabbit hole one may go down, plate scratches & sheet layouts. Shout out to Stan/Aztechengineer for working with me on this one 👍. Lefty Leifield, Pittsburgh, Pitching. $125 Nothing overly crazy about this one, just a nice presentable Sovereign back graded a PSA 1.5, I'm including this one beacause it was the one that got me to 50% (262). Thanks to Colton/Nineunder71 👍. -Ryan |
Congrats! That's quite an accomplishment in a short period of time. I love that Cobb!

The Cobb bat off is one of the best looking cards in the entire set, IMO.
|
Fantastic. Keep us updated as you continue to assemble cards in the set.

Congrats on the progress Ryan, and glad I could help a bit, best of luck on the last half!! I’ve got six to go myself as I’ve officially given up on the Big 4.
Stalled at 514 for quite a while now :( |

Update on the set-build:
308/524 58% Complete Thanks to Mr. Kaplan for the Ball, NY Piedmont to complete (what will be) the 1st page of the binder. |
Fantastic progress, great job. Also warms the heart to hear you say it is going to be a binder set. Having made that transition myself, I couldn't imagine doing it any other way at this point. I've been fully devoted to T206 for the last year or so as well and I just hit 265/520, feels very good, but now seeing where you are, looks like I have some catching up to do!
Keep us updated. |
Ryan,
Great job, keep up the good work. Love the Cobbs.....particularly the green ones over the red portrait. Not sure why. Keep up the good work |
Congratulations, that is quite an accomplishment in so short a time-frame; you can be justifiably proud!

Update on the set-build...
Sitting on 341/525 (65%) Started cracking cases and placing in the Binder (probably the most fun I've had w baseball cards since being a kid), only 3 pages done so far. Here is the first 20, which I made a conscious effort to get completed. A few upgrades from the original pictures above. |
Wow, great progress. Nice job. Such a fun set to collect. Congrats!
|
+1 congrats and the best part is the enjoyment
